About Duke Henry
Move over Bro-Country and Country-Rap! There’s a new sheriff in town, and he is shooting it straight with the traditional outlaw sounds of Hank Williams Jr., Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and David Allen Coe. Duke Henry is forging a niche all his own in the CMA’s and radio world alike. With his warm, low, thunderous voice, grand stature and ample background he is definitely worth a double take. His music will transport you back to the values this country was founded on. You won’t find a more authentic red, white and blue blooded American out there. Duke’s personal motto is, “be the protector of freedom at home for those who protect our freedom abroad,” and that is exactly what he plans to do. Quickly becoming radio favorites, Duke’s songs “Way Down South”, BBQ Country Style”, “Come on Baby Let’s Have Some Fun”, and the title track to the album “Without a Gun”, are great indicators that the second album which is currently in production will possess the same quality hits.
You won’t argue his approach, being a Navy Veteran, former DTF (Drug Task Force) Agent, Intelligence Analyst, search and rescue diver and SAR operator, current founder of Tier 1 Tactical K-9 and Director of USISB (United States Investigative Services Bureau) you might want to think twice before you give this guy the cold shoulder. He is no stranger to the stage either, the former comedian performed at such venues as the comedy zone and laugh factory, making stops in Memphis, Nashville and Birmingham. Duke stays in close contact with the organizations he is a part of dealing with the military, and is currently planning a tour with the USO to entertain our troops. Growing up on tractors and bulls, this country music artist did not listen to the radio in his younger days, instead he sang songs he would make up while riding. He sold the hook to the first song he wrote at the age of twelve and hit the stage for the first time in 2000 opening up for Delbert McClinton and has played with the Delta Blues Band.
Duke’s decision to focus his energy on his musical pursuit, pouring his soul into the music he creates quickly resulted in tours and radio performances. Cashbox Magazine has decided to put Duke on it’s cover for the February, 2016 edition. His album “Without a Gun” shot right up to top ten in the nation on Independent surveys for three weeks straight because of his connection to the common working man and hasn’t slowed down yet. The album got a perfect score from Radio Review Board making it one of three to receive such scores in the past year. Rex Wiseman of the Oak Ridge Boys said, “Duke Henry is unique and the image of yesterday with today sounds” and Delane Long of Kix106 says, “I believe Duke Henry is the next big thing.” As the newest addition to the CMA rosters, Duke has burst onto the country scene with a Top 10 single, “Red Dress” on the European charts within the first twelve hours of its release and it doesn’t appear he plans on going anywhere. So if you find yourself hankering a little nostalgia of yesteryear with a taste of old school and a modern twist, put on some Duke Henry, kick on back, and let this virtuous lawman bring country back to this country!
